Submitting an Article for Publication?

Among the myriad of faculty services Law School Libraries can offer to Law School Faculty one is assistance with the process of submitting articles for publication.

In the February 2012 issue of the AALL Spectrum, Michelle Cosby, Faculty Services Librarian at North Carolina Central University Law School, provides some excellent sources on the publication submission process and submission services available for faculty.

For general information on guidelines for article submission, as well as details on the submission process and the requirements for more than 200 law reviews, check out this article recommended by Cosby:  Information for Submitting Articles to Law Reviews & Journals, by Allen K. Rostron and Nancy Levit.

Cosby also points out that there are many great websites available that explain the publication process and provide submission tips.  The website at George W. Hopper Law Library at the University of Wyoming and Columbia Law School’s website are two that she recommends.  You’ll find these sites include information on the best times of year to submit materials, deciding where to submit your article, and discussion of expedited review.  In addition, there are links to other useful online and paper resources.
